Cubism presents eighty works by Picasso, Braque, Gris and Léger—a promised gift to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Leonard A. Lauder. These masterpieces are featured as full page images throughout twenty-two essays. The essays are followed by a section titled, The Backs of Things. Here, the curators reveal additional images and historic evidence, including stamps and labels, on the backs of the canvases. In addition to the catalogue, I designed a label for Mr. Lauder’s collection, which was letterpressed and affixed to the backs of his collection.
