In the Wake: Japanese Photographers
Respond to 3/11

In the Wake brings together the work of fifteen photographers, each with a different view of the 3/11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear-plant disaster in Japan. The contemporary design is inspired by a Japanese esthetic with space to breath and contemplate. It is both immediate and personal. Information is separated by shifting text blocks and images, referencing the shifting blocks of earth that initiated the destructive events. The calm and ominous color of the gray-blue sky, revealed in many of the photographs, is used throughout.
